I played 3 games vs. my brother and the dual autarch list yesterday at one of the LGS.  He went from terrible to a level I consider good enough to beat most of the regulars.  His only problem is he was getting way too close.  First game I used meltaguns more than I was using the lascannons.  By the third game he was using his prisms distance correctly, although the third game was vs my nurgle and one unit with autarch got caught next to the table edge by the two lash princes walking on from reserve.

It was funny we played turn 3 of the first game through packing up and leaving after the third game all in the time frame of someone next to us playing a single 1500 game.

It was a pretty nice showing with the shipping crate terrain and the krieg all done.  This is the type of store where there are quite a few players but most people dont see a decent fully painted army let alone a pure forge world force so folks were pretty stoked.

Regular LGS hijinks that I genuinely missed were back.  Some kid leaned over on his arm and sent a tray full of about 50 cadians skyward.  A kid was swinging a yo yo two feet from my Ryza Executioner (that didnt last long) and it was otherwise packed. I missed the actual place although its kinda corny.  It really does have a nice atmosphere.

There is one guy here who has been playing since like 87 and has every single army.  When new armies are released he very rarely has to really buy anything new.  This is the type of guy though that footslogs 50 PMs with wind of chaos sorcs.  Anyway, he got the wolf codex and was pretty excited about it.  Hes coming next week with an army of 900 points of HQs.  I may have to try and play that if my brother plays someone else.

I got that terrain from that auction in and it was a lot more than I thought.  It came in 4 3'x3' boxes and there was so much shredded paper it filled 3 33 gallon bags.  One box was actually one buidling.  Its HUGE.  They are all really solid though and well constructed and very modern looking as opposed to gothic which is a good thing.  There is enough to cover a 8x4 table and only drive a rhino between.

Anyway gotta drive to the airport to meet Steve and give him his army.

So I got the second medusa from forge world today.  It also has the wrong barrel.

I have decided to make the wolves a quick fourth army.  I already own it all anyway.

Im going to be lame and use marauder horsemen for my cav.  I own a 100% forge world army plus the nurgle I dont care at this point I just want variety to play with.

Don't use ponies. PLEASE.

That store kinda sounds like the GW I'll be frequenting again. Mostly kids for regulars, I'm one of the only guys with anything approaching a fully-panted army to a decent standard...

But the terrain is fantastic, plenty of space for games (they have six tables), and the staff, while GW employees, are actually very tolerable, and I'm even good friends with the manager (who's also a lady ).

In fact, I got invited to hang around after close today to stay with the manager, her husband, and two other guys to learn how to play Aeronautica Imperialis. It was surprisingly fun.
